There is an exception to this… What works for a corporate site will not for a personal site.
You should be formal in a business page but informal in a personal site.
This is the worst thing you can do. It’s called About Me page, not Shutterstock’s or Pexel’s page.

It pays to use a casual photo of you. Note, I didn’t say a silly photo.
You should not be using a picture of you eating because it actually silly.

Some About Me pages is a duplicate of another on the web. Bloggers going to copy someone else writings.
That is the number one offense. The number two is those who claim to be making money they are not.
The highest you can go to being someone else is to be the second-best. Don’t lie about what you haven’t done because your audience will know with time.
You have to be original to stand out. Be the real you.

This is painful and not ethical.
Imagine being redirected as a first time user to an affiliate program. You won’t like it.
