Tinubu Nominates Bianca Ojukwu and Six Others as Ministers

President Bola Tinubu’s long-awaited cabinet reshuffle kicked off on Wednesday, with the dismissal of five ministers and the selection of seven new nominees for Senate approval. 

Additionally, the President shifted 10 ministers to different positions and nominated seven new ministers for Senate approval.

Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu has been nominated by Tinubu as the Minister of State Foreign Affairs, replacing the suspended Betta Edu.

The President also nominated

  • Maigari Dingyadi as the Minister of Labour and Employment,
  • Jumoke Oduwole as the Minister of Industry,
  • Idi Maiha as Minister for the newly created Livestock Development Ministry,
  • Yusuf Ata as the Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, with
  • Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State Education.

The President sacked

  • Uju-Ken Ohanenye as Minister of Women Affairs;
  • Lola Ade-John as Minister of Tourism;
  • Tahir Mamman as Minister of Education;
  • Abdullahi Gwarzo as Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development; and
  • Jamila Ibrahim as Minister of Youth Development.

The President acknowledged and expressed gratitude to the outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council for their service to the nation, while also wishing them success in their future endeavors.

He instructed the newly appointed ministers and their reassigned colleagues to view their appointment as a duty to serve the nation.

He said that everyone who’s appointed needs to know that the administration really wants Nigeria to grow and they should give their best to help the government achieve its goals.
