An unbelievable number of over 1300 APC members from Dawakin Tofa in Kano State defected to the ruling NNPP.
Those who left, from 11 wards, are determined to stop APC from ruling in Kano State again. One of the big shots from the former APC members was Malam Kwa, who used to be the vice chairman of the local government area.
When the decampees arrived in Dawakin-Tofa, the NNPP State Chairman, Hon. Hashimu Dungurawa, praised them for their choice.
Dungurawa announced that the NNPP, with Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso at the helm, is totally dedicated to improving Kano State’s society, economy, and infrastructure.
Dungurawa made it clear that everyone has the same chances in the party and there’s no truth to the rumors of NNPP members joining APC. He said NNPP still had control of its structure in all the wards in the state.
“We learnt one APC man has been receiving members of NNPP into APC. We have checked the roll call of our members and we have not noticed any reduction in our numerical strength.
“I need to advise them to beware of 419 people coming to collect the public funds in the name of decampees”, Dungurawa said.
Earlier, Kwa accused Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, of not doing anything to improve the area while he was governor for eight years.
Kwa also claimed that Ganduje didn’t handle the party well, which is why the ex-governor lost the House of Representatives seat in the 2023 election.
