It is common to see entrepreneurs seek mentors who have seem to “have” it more than they do.
While there is nothing wrong with that, that mindset is not the best.
In search for mentors, financial success should not be your major criteria.
You can’t celebrate Messi’s success without mentioning his coaches. Yet, he is richer than all combined.
Even Steve Jobs was not as rich as his protege, Mark Zuckerberg.
The primary goal of coaches, mentors, and fathers is not to have more talents than you do.
If they have, then they are as good as competitors.
Instead, their primary goal is to identify your gift and help develop your strengths.
A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.

He may not be as opportune as you are. It doesn’t stop him from leading you to success.
After all, the prayer of every father is that his son becomes better than him.
