Telling Africa’s Story with Clarity: Web Design for African Sights

Client: African Sights
Project Scope: Web Design & News Publishing Experience
Designed by: Oluboba
Website: africansights.com

The Mission

African Sights wanted to be the daily news source for all things Africa; culture, business, politics, the whole deal. But their website/social media didn’t represent them well.

They wanted a platform that was bold, easy to use, and could handle daily posts. That’s where we started.

Our Web Design Approach

I didn’t just build African Sights a website; I built them a storytelling machine!

We focused on:

  • Mobile-first design for easy access across Africa and the diaspora
  • Structured layouts organize news by topic and region
  • A clean, modern interface that feels both credible and welcoming
  • Fast-loading pages to support readers on all devices and networks
  • Integrated blog tools to streamline content uploads and category management

I trained their team on updating content because the best designs work with the people using them.

What We Prioritized

I made sure every visitor could:

  • Find stories fast using our smart category and region filters.
  • Trust the content as it shows who wrote it, when, and is well-organized.
  • Keep reading for great articles, popular topics, and links to other good stuff!
  • Use their phones, since most people use their phones to visit.

What the Client Said

Oluboba’s help made our African story elegant. People are loving the new site; it’s so much faster and clearer. The design is modern, simple, and scalable.
