In the middle of all the drama in the Benue State PDP, a former House of Representatives member, Chief Ezekiel Adaji, is now the new party state chairman.
It was during the party’s state congress, which took place on Thursday in Makurdi, that Chief Adaji emerged.
He’s now leading the party’s new 27-member State Executive Committee, which was elected with him.
The leader of the Benue State PDP Congress Electoral Committee, Alh. Ibrahim Shaba, announced the winners.
Chief Adaji, speaking for the newly inaugurated SWC, said he’s totally grateful for the massive support from party members.
He said: “Our state is in need of leadership and my state EXCO will not disappoint the party to ensure it bounces back to power.
“We are going to hit the ground running and we shall reconcile all aggrieved members of the party, as we intend to set up a reconciliation committee immediately.”
Shaba said they had a total of 2910 people on the list, and 2900 were approved for the state congress election.
