Court Adjourned APC Nat. Chairman Ganduje’s Case to Nov 20

Kano State High Court schedules Nov. 20 for hearing of pending applications in bribery and misappropriation case against APC’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and seven others.

The state government has filed eight charges against Ganduje, his wife, and others.

The charges involve bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds totaling billions of naira.

On Wednesday, the court was set to hear a preliminary objection from the sixth defendant.

Mr Adeola Adedipe, SAN, informed the court that the plaintiff is ready to proceed, with a witness from Lagos present.

But, the lawyers for the first, second, and fourth defendants, Mr Offiong Offiong, SAN, said they didn’t get the required papers like the plaintiff’s response and the objection.

He asked for a break to review the documents.

Mr. Taye Falola, counsel for the third and seventh defendants, also pointed out that they had not received the documents.

He verified the submission of a preliminary objection on Oct. 10 and sought a different date for the hearing.

Mr. Nureini Jimoh, SAN, the sixth defendant’s counsel, is ready to proceed with their application. Abdul Adamu SAN and Mr. Faruk Asekome, the lawyers for the fifth and eighth defendants, also expressed concerns about not receiving the plaintiff’s filings.

Justice Amina Aliyu stressed the importance of serving documents correctly, rejecting the plaintiff’s request for immediate action.

The judge adjourned the case until Nov. 20 for pending applications.

The case is gaining attention because of the high-profile defendants, especially Ganduje, the APC’s National Chairman.
