EFCC Arrests Ex Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku, over Alleged ₦27bn Fraud

The immediate past Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, has been arrested by the dedicated and diligent men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of being allegedly involved in a fraudulent scheme worth ₦27 billion.

Ishaku successfully ran for office and was elected in 2015, serving two terms until May 29, 2023.

As per a report, the former Governor was apprehended at his residence in Abuja during the early hours of Friday, September 27, 2024.

As per the information obtained from insiders at the anti-graft agency, it has been verified that Ishaku remains detained by the agency up until the filing of this report on Friday night.

An insider has come forward to disclose that the former Governor is currently facing no less than 15-count charges.

The source also revealed that the arraignment in court is imminent, as the evidence against him has been meticulously compiled and is now ready for presentation.
