Fubara to Inaugurate 23 Newly Elected Chairmen Today in Rivers

The Rivers State Government will swear in the 23 declared winners of the Local Government Council elections today.

The RSIEC confirmed that the Action People’s Party (APP) won all 23 local government area chairmanship seats.

The government has confirmed the election results and announced the winners’ swearing-in.

The chairmen will be sworn in at 4 pm today, as stated by Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo.

The statement reads:

“His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today, Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4 pm.

The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 pm.”

The elections yesterday were a total mess with gunshots, bombs, and protests everywhere.

Despite all the chaos, the election went ahead and today is the big swearing-in ceremony.
