The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, October 1st, as a public holiday to celebrate our 64th Independence Day.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, said this in Abuja on Saturday.
Ajani said that the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Nigerians everywhere on the occasion.
Tunji-Ojo applauded the Nigerians for their hard work, assuring them that it will all be worth it in the end.
The minister encouraged Nigerians to embrace the Anniversary’s theme and think about the hard work of our past heroes for inspiration in the future.
He added that the Nigeria we dream of can only come true if we’re all on the same page.
The minister sent his wishes for a happy celebration and urged Nigerians to keep working on nation-building.
