In a sad news, John Ashton, the rugged yet lovable police detective John Taggart in the Beverly Hills Cop film has died at 76.
Ashton passed away on Thursday in Fort Collins, Colorado, according to a statement from his family released by his manager, Alan Somers, on Sunday.
They didn’t give a reason for the death.
John Ashton’s contribution to the “Beverly Hills Cop” films cannot be overlooked, as he played an essential part in a trio that left a lasting impression.
In Martin Brest’s 1988 buddy comedy “Midnight Run,” Ashton played a character who was pretty sneaky.
Ashton is survived by his wife, Robin Hoye, of 24 years, two kids, three stepkids, a grandson, two sisters, and a brother.
