The Chinese Embassy in Abuja had a celebration on Friday for the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.
After achieving victory over Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek’s Kuomintang forces, Mao Zedong proclaimed the establishment of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949.
Yu Dunhai, the Ambassador of China to Nigeria, took a moment to reflect on the remarkable progress that the nation has made, emphasizing the significant transformation that has occurred under the effective leadership of the Communist Party.
“Over the past 75 years, China has evolved from poverty to prosperity.
“We’ve lifted nearly 100 million people out of poverty and achieved moderate prosperity,” Yu said.
China’s contributions to global economic growth have been remarkable, with an average growth rate of over 30 percent between 2013 and 2023, as you highlighted.
Extending his congratulations, Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, commended China on reaching this momentous milestone and emphasized Nigeria’s unwavering determination to foster closer cooperation with the nation.
He made an announcement about his intention to foster parliamentary engagement through the establishment of the China-Nigeria Friendship Group.
