A Visit to the FCT Council of Yoruba Obas

By the mercies and grace of God, I have been opportune to meet with dignitaries in different sectors of life.

But there is one sector that amazes me the most. My breath pauses when I meet with these dignitaries.

I can’t even look at these dignitaries in their eyes. If I will ever shake, it is with both hands and knee on the floor.

A friend said, “It is because you are from the royal line. So, you understand culture and traditions.”

She is right. I not only understand culture, but I also respect it and hold it in high esteem.

So, who are these dignitaries I have been talking about?

It is the Obas… I mean kings – Royal Majesties. Especially those affiliating to the Yoruba culture.

Following an impromptu notice that the FCT Council of Yoruba Obas will meet on the Saturday 21st of September 2024, we arrived at the venue.

Led by our capacity state chairman, Alhaji Adebari Saheed (3rd from the front-left in picture), we discussed extensively the impact and contributions of the LP FCT Southwest to national interest.

He furthered by inviting the Obas to grace our End of the Year Party, which holds Saturday, 30th November 2024.

They gladly accepted this invitation and promised to be there.

The meeting ended with blessings released from the Royal Majesties to all members of Yoruba communities in FCT and diaspora.

It was a tremendous success.
