The governor of Akwa Ibom, Umo Eno, made his daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki, the Acting First Lady of the state.
He is mourning the death of his wife, Patience Eno.
The governor confirmed it on Friday when Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and other important people visited in Uyo.
Eno mentioned that his daughter will take over as First Lady and continue the work his late wife began, especially with the Golden Initiative For All.
“To maintain the Office of the First Lady and carry forward my late wife’s work, I present our daughter, Helen, to continue the duties of the office. She will work closely with the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare,” the governor said.
He’s confident his daughter can continue her mom’s work and he’s committed to keeping the projects going.
The governor got all emotional and called his late wife his number one fan and biggest critic. He talked about how they were inseparable their whole lives.
He made it clear that he can never replace his late wife and is dedicated to carrying on her legacy through the First Lady’s office.
