Bode George, a PDP chieftain, has criticized Ayo Fayose for endorsing the re-election of APC Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
George said something’s not right if Fayose really supports Oyebanji.
He mentioned that the PDP will be looking into the ex-governors from his ward to see if he’ll face any consequences for going against the party.
Bode George faults Fayose’s support for Gov Oyebanji Re-election
George said…
“If it is true that Governor Fayose openly rejected the party and stated that he is going to work for the APC governor, he has defined his direction. From his ward, they will make arrangement for that investigation within confines of Ekiti State before they will report.
“Ayo knows that you cannot say you are a member of this party and a former two-term governor of a party to now say you are working openly for the governor of the opposition party, something is wrong,”
In October, Fayose praised Governor Oyebanji, saying it would take a miracle for the PDP to defeat him in the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.
George said the PDP can still fix the party’s crisis. He said parties go through tough times, but what’s happening in the PDP right now isn’t the best way to handle it.
He’s not happy that PDP members are putting their personal interests above party peace. He believes the party’s interests should always take priority for there to be long-lasting peace in the PDP.
He pleaded with the party members to keep their issues private and give peace a shot in the party.
