About the Role

Are you passionate about digital storytelling and making ocean science engaging for everyone?

The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO is looking for a Digital Communications Consultant to amplify the voice of ocean science and sustainability worldwide.

You’ll join the IOC Communications Team to craft impactful digital content, shape global campaigns, and tell the stories that connect people to the ocean from science breakthroughs to the UN Ocean Decade initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute digital content strategies that align with IOC’s mission and communication goals.

• Create accessible, engaging content across web and social media platforms.

• Lead digital storytelling campaigns highlighting ocean science and sustainability.

• Manage and grow IOC’s online presence across social channels.

• Use analytics to track performance and improve engagement.

• Support communications for key events and initiatives, including the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
