PDP Warns Ganduje About Attempts to Capture Ondo State

The PDP fired back at the APC chairman, Ganduje, saying that trying to take over the Ondo State governorship election would be a big mistake.

Also, the PDP governors are met on Tuesday to decide on the proposed NEC meeting.

The PDP caucus in the House of Representatives is set to meet with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Ganduje had boldly stated that the party would “seize” the South-West by emerging victorious in the governorship election in Ondo State on November 16.

Ganduje said this during a meeting in Akure.

The ex-Kano State governor stated that the ruling party is striving to control all six states.

He vowed to help APC take over PDP-led Oyo and Osun States to boost Tinubu’s support for the 2027 election.

Ganduje urged stakeholders to support the APC candidate and incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, without revealing the party’s winning strategy.

The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, swiftly responded, cautioning Ganduje not to underestimate Ondo State.

PDP warns Ganduje about attempts to Seize Ondo State

“We are all students of history. We know what in 1963 and in 1983. The story of operation is still fresh in our minds. It was the attempt to capture and impose unpopular candidates on the people.

”We know the consequences of trying to impose Akin Omoboriowo on the people. To use federal might to capture the November 16 governorship election is a great threat to our democracy.

”Those who know that Ondo State is not Edo State, You cannot capture Ondo State. We are not orphans. Any attempt to capture Ondo will be resisted,” Ologunagba said.

He called on security agencies to caution Ganduje for his irresponsible remarks, which could lead to a crisis.

Ologunagba believes that the collapse of democracy in Nigeria since 1983 was due to the actions of power-hungry politicians.
