Rotary Peace Fellowship Eligibility and Application for 2025

Every year, Rotary gives out 130 fully funded fellowships to exceptional leaders from all over the world to study at their peace centers.

Through training, practice, and global networking, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops peace and development professionals into effective catalysts for peace.

You don’t have to worry about a thing – the fellowships have got you covered for tuition, fees, room and board, transportation, internships, and field-study expenses.

The Rotary Peace Centers have trained 1,700+ fellows since 2002, and they’re now working in 140+ countries.

You will find their alumni in governments, NGOs, schools, and research institutions, as well as peacekeeping and law enforcement agencies, and international organizations like the UN and World Bank.

How to Apply for Rotary Peace Fellowship

The Rotary Foundation offers 50 fellowships for master’s degrees and 80 for certificate studies at amazing universities every year.

Master’s Degree Programs

Should I go for the master’s degree fellowship?

They are searching for early-career candidates who are into peace and conflict resolution, love reading and research, and can get involved with a diverse group of students.

Once the program ends, you should be ready to share your work and experience, stay in touch with peace fellows in your region, and maintain strong connections with Rotary members.

Master’s degree candidates must also:

  • Be proficient in English and have a bachelor’s degree
  • Show a firm commitment to understanding different cultures and peace through your achievements and community service.
  • Have the potential for leadership with at least three years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work.
  • If you are currently in school, sorry, you can’t apply. You need to wait at least three years after finishing your degree before starting the fellowship.
  • No Rotary members or employees allowed.

If you’re accepted, you will learn about peace and development through research-based teaching with different students.

The programs last 15 to 24 months and include a field study, which lasts two to three months.

Professional Development Certificate Program

Should I do the Rotary Peace Fellowship professional development certificate program?

The perfect candidate is a mid-career leader in peace and development, with at least five years of relevant work experience.

Candidates should come up with a social change project to promote peace and development in the program region.

This program is for working professionals and you need to be present for 11 weeks. Once you are done with the program, you will earn a postgraduate diploma.

Certificate candidates must also:

  • Be fluent in English and have a bachelor’s degree.
  • You should have at least five years of relevant experience in peace or development work.
  • You should truly commit yourself to understanding different cultures and promoting peace through your achievements and service.
  • Show off your leadership skills and explain how your peace-promoting plan matches Rotary’s mission.
  • If you are currently in school, either undergraduate or postgraduate, you can’t apply.
  • You need to wait three years after finishing your last degree before starting the fellowship.

Throughout the one-year blended learning program, experienced peace and development professionals with diverse backgrounds gain practical skills to help bring peace to their communities and regions.
