The American Association of University Women International Fellowships AAUW Scholarship opens August 1st every year and closes November 15th of the same year.
Since 1917, this fellowship has been providing support for women who want to pursue graduate or postgraduate studies in the USA with intentions to contribute to their home country.
To apply, you must have a bachelor’s degree and already applied to your intended school.
They pick people who have excelled academically and shown their support for women and girls.
At the end of your term, you must go back to your home country and become leaders in your field of career.
As an AAUW scholar, you receive funding between the range of $20,000 to $50,000 depending on the level of your study.
AAUW Scholarship Requirements for Eligibility
These are the requirements to become eligible for the application of AAUW scholarship in the USA.
1) You can apply if you are not a citizen of the US and not expected to be during the fellowship year
2) Have a degree (from the U.S. or anywhere) that’s equal to a U.S. bachelor’s degree by the application deadline.
3) Plan to fully commit to the academic program during the fellowship year and return to your home country upon completion.
4) Be proficient in English and confirm your proficiency through any of the accepted English test.
5) You should have submitted your applications before the application deadline.
6) If you’re applying for a postdoc, you need to present your doctorate certificate.
7) If you have already received an AAUW national fellowship or grant, you can’t apply for this scholarship.
8) The AAUW board, committees, staff, and interns can’t apply for AAUW’s fellowships and grants.
Women of all study fields can apply for the AAUW scholarship at any accredited USA university.

Selection Criteria
AAUW awards this scholarship competitively based on funds. So there are a few seats available.
1) Those living outside the US at the time of application will receive special consideration.
2) What is your academic and/or professional qualifications.
3) How willing are you to return to your home country after study?
4) How have you supported gender equality in your home country?
5) How good is your proposal and the time schedule?
6) Do you have evidence of community development in your country?
7) Is your home country an underdeveloped or developing nation?
8) What motivates you to want to go on a graduate study or research?
9) How serious do you need financial support to pursue your professional goal?
