We Will Start Arresting Beggars in FCT From Monday – Wike

The Federal Capital Territory Administration is cautioning roadside beggars to stop or else face arrest by enforcement agents.

At the flag-off ceremony in Katampe, the minister announced the commencement of the construction of the access road to the newly established judges’ quarters.

He expressed concern about the alarming number of people on the road, which poses a security threat in the city.

Then, he gave an ultimatum to the concerned parties to leave the streets by October 27, 2024.

On Monday, Wike remembered how he cancelled the certificate of occupancy for land given to Julius Berger in Abuja.

The minister addressed the official Flag-Off Ceremony for the construction of 40 Judges’ Quarters in the nation’s capital.

The event was graced by the presence of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

According to Wike, 70% of project funds were released after approval from the Federal Executive Council last month.

He mentioned that among the 40 units to be constructed, the FCT High Court will get 20, the Federal High Court will get 10, and the Court of Appeal will get 10.
